

Shannon Butkus M.S., CCC-SLP Executive Director Shannon graduated with honors from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 1997. She completed her Master of Science at Baylor University in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 1999 and currently holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence through the American Speech Language Hearing Association. She is also licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners for Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists and is a member of the Texas Speech Language Hearing Association as well as the Houston Association of Communication Disorders. Shannon’s experience includes work in private practice, home care settings, and the public schools. She has a particular interest in working with adolescents with High Functioning Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome as well as with children with complex oral motor and feeding needs. Shannon believes in the importance of intensive, one-on-one speech therapy to optimize each child’s ability to communication. When not working, Shannon enjoys spending time traveling with her husband George.
Patricia Al-Attas M.S., CCC-SLP Senior Speech Language Pathologist and Team Leader Pattie’s brings over 30 years of experience including private, medical and school settings. A former director of therapy services and administrator, she also provided continuing education seminars nationwide for therapists and parents covering her original methods and materials. Humor and creativity are a hallmark of all she does. Pattie has developed a wide range of therapy and educational materials including a unique, language-based method of addressing handwriting. Her most recent book, Well Versed is published by Therapy In Print (TIPS). Pattie currently specializes in pragmatic language disorders and oral motor based articulation deficits. Pattie holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is licensed by the Texas Board of Examiners for Speech Pathologists and Audiologists. Having worked with Shannon Butkus previously, she was delighted to join Shannon as one of the team leaders at Butkus and Associates.
